The conference was arranged as a series of sessions to give practical and actionable advice to bloggers, and to share the key tools for success that would enable the individuals to improve their blogging, websites, visibility, quality, context (content), and the sharing of their content.

I specifically spoke about the way that we consider bloggers to engage with for the Brands that Reprise Media represent for social campaigns. We look to attract blogger to our clients products, brands and then to provide them with product samples or sneak previews in the form of Sponsored activity – IE. We will sponsor the individual to attend an event / provide them with product for them to share their experiences, offer them special deals and much more.

Brands Engaging With Bloggers – NuffNang Blogopolis 2011

Important things to include in your Blog

I mentioned a few other things that might be worth including links to in general twitter conversation yesterday.

Rel=Author

I have written a post here specifically about the Rel=Author rich snippet

Social Integration

Facebook / Twitter sign-in and the syndication of comments on your Facebook & Blog are great opportunities for you to use content and to create content in different ways.

Opportunities using the OpenGraph with Facebook & WordPress plugins (like I use on this site) mean that if the time arises (and it will soon) I can enable my facebook page, and all comments will be syndicated back out to this site (increasing the volume of post comments & unique user generated content)

Hope that you enjoyed both my presentation and the event as a whole. Thanks to all the bloggers that we have worked with over the last few years – it is always a pleasure.

Important – you need to decide on your exact integration of twitter or facebook – I would decide based on your current userĀ referralsĀ from the majority source. This could mean that you offer both options (Sign in with Facebook/Twitter), but prioritise the one that refers the majority of your traffic.

Sign In / comment using Facebook Login

Facebook status updater

I will update this with a full step by step guide – as I am actually going through this process at the moment.

Sharebar

Get a WordPress sharebar like mashableI mentioned Mashable’s sharebar as a good floating share buttonbar. About 10 minutes ago, I just had a play with it, and have just popped it live on here so that you can have a look at what I was talking about. There is a plugin, which uses Mashable’s bar as inspiration that you can customise for WordPress – Sharebar

YARP – Related Posts

Yet another related post is a great plugin for wordpress – means that you don’t have to rely on tagging for recommended content, but the user can automatically find similar pieces related to what you post, rather than what you don’t post.

Blogger Audience Demographic

How does a blogger provide more information about their audience?

Firstly – you need (Google) analytics – a given in my opinion – gives you all of the information about the on page metrics for your site, however, how do you find out more? use Yoast’s Google Analytics Wordress plugin is still the best in my opinion.

Well as you blog starts to grow, you will start to see it showing up on sites like Google AdPlanner – especially if you have Google AdSense enabled on your site, and enable the sharing of the data in Google Analytics. Having just tested this – I think that you need to have quite a lot of traffic to see it coming up in AdPlanner, as very few of the sites that I work on are even included.
